Hypothesis: Cutting bread/carbs out of our diet will promote weight loss and maybe I’ll be less lethargic?

So James and I are going to attempt a no bread diet for the next 30 days. The plan? To cut out all bread, pasta, and try to reduce as many heavy carbs as we can. Will it be difficult? Absolutely. Will we accomplish it? I honestly don’t know! Check out what our hopes and dreams are below 🙂
Weighing in
James: 155.4 lbs
Sarah: 143.2 lbs
Crookshanks: 18.2 lbs (Obviously he doesn’t eat bread but we were curious to see where he’s weighing in at these days…)
Expectations
James: I’m thinking it will go negatively at first and then hopefully get better. If I get anything out of this, I would like it to be getting thinner and to have better G.I. experiences.
Sarah: I’m definitely expecting my mood to be a little sour the first week or so because I pretty much live off of bread. I’m hoping that it will increase my health though and maybe make me want to be a little more active.
The diet
No: Bread, pasta, pastries: basically anything that is full of starch and sugar we are going to do our best to avoid
Yes: Veggies, fruits, meat, fish, all the healthy grains like quinoa (quinoa is healthy right? Maybe I should do more research on this!)
Day 1
well I’m not sure if we already failed because we had waffles for breakfast but I did put any unused bread in the freezer for use after the challenge. I also planned ahead with our grocery shopping and got ingredients that would not compromise our diet. What will we be eating this week? Chicken, shrimp, salmon, and salads. I am excited to experiment more with recipes that are healthy and I think they’ll also taste really good!
Cravings?
Sarah: No, not really.
James: Nope.
Concerns?
Sarah: We have a vacation to Florida coming up in 20 days and I’m concerned I might break the diet when we’re down there. Mainly burger eating worries me, but I’m gonna try to do protein style (wrapped with lettuce instead of a bun) if I do get one. We will also be more active down there so I think that may skew the weight loss results due to the fact that it’s not our usual routine.
James: I’m afraid of developing a gluten intolerance from doing this…
Stay tuned to find out what happens as I talk about our experiences and maybe even our failures throughout the next 4 weeks.
