I am a firm believer in reaching for your dreams. But what happens when they don't look like they are possible or are out of reach? Well, we suck it up and we push harder! 2020 sucked for everyone, and I am no exception. I was working but I wasn't fulfilled career-wise. Looking around, I saw all my friends moving forward in their careers when James and I were making jokes that I didn't have one yet.
High, Low, Buffalo – A Summer Review
Happy Fall everyone! Now that we are officially in the 'ber months I thought it'd be a good time to share a recap of my first summer as a married woman as well as my first summer spent in New York. we're gonna cover the high, the low, and the buffalo moments, so buckle your seat belts kids, it's gonna be a wild ride!
The New Norm: COVID-19
Ithaca got our first confirmed case of Covid-19 on March 14th. I was called into work that Sunday (which I don't work weekends) and was greeted by our leadership team planning and preparing for future cases that we knew were inevitable at this point. It was definitely chaotic but a good chaotic. I saw people coming together more than ever to help our community to ensure that we continue to give the best possible patient care to future positive patients as well as our normal ones. That Sunday got me fired up, I was ready to serve!
Conference Confessions
Last week, I got the opportunity to go to a conference for work! The title: Administrative Assistant Conference in Binghamton, New York. Ok, it maybe doesn't have the flashiest name or location but there were definitely some interesting things to learn. And because it was my first ever conference, it was pretty exciting not knowing what to expect!
Let’s Get Thrifty
So I don't know about you but I am a huge fan of shopping! I love the rush I get when I have a new purchase and can proudly wear those clothes around the house or at work (Because let's be honest, where else do I go these days...). But the problem about enjoying shopping is that it can get pretty expensive when going to the big brand brick and mortar store like H&M, American Eagle, Levi's, or Nike. I prefer the same products but for muchhhhh less. My solution? Thrift stores! I am a sucker for a good sale at these stores but those are few and far between. I'm fortunate enough to live in a place where the thrifting is plentiful though!
